I don't know what is going on.  I had an OK MRI of my brain/shunt in August and OK PET/CT scans a few weeks ago.  I've had problems with ataxia (imbalance), blurring, diplopia (double vision) off and on for 25 years now, since the first of 3 brain tumors, but all are worse in the last month or so, including 2 falls and many near falls.  The eye MD yesterday said my eyes are OK, it is probably side effects of meds, and one was changed, and the dosage of another was increased.  But today the pharmacist said there wasn't enough of a change in the meds, call the neuro doctor.  Naturally, the neurosurgeon and the neurologist are both off till Tuesday with the holidays.  Meanwhile ??? You know you have a problem when the digital clock say it is 33 o'clock.  At least the problem is intermittent and not constant, and my mind seems to be working OK.  Glad you are here.

Thank you for your concern.  I'm staying pretty calm and peaceful about this, especially since it is still intermittent.  I think if it were a constant problem I'd become panicky.  My sisters and a couple of nearby friends know to call for help fast if I begin to talk out of my head or anything like that.  Otherwise I'm OK.  I even drove yesterday, and handled having a flat tire and having to have the spare tire put on.  Today I don't feel so good, but I think it is mostly fatigue.  I'm just taking it easy.  New Year's Eve is a good evening to flip channels on TV.  HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone !

Dear Kathy,
I know how scary that can be. During the college years I could predict whenever I would need a shunt revision by if I menstruated or not. I would also throw up in the mornings and that is when I KNEW something was wrong. I have tried to leave a message to you, on this site  but I could not get it to work correctly. Sorry about that. Leave me a message and include your email if you would. That way we could talk and address things on a one to one scale. I know the frustration of waiting and thinking something is wrong!
I do not tell my Mom anymore if I am sick. She thinks the "meningiomas" in my brain are nothing to worry about. In the meantime I am waiting to get another MRI in February, see my neuro-opthamologist and then see him, the surgeon. In 9 months I grew a NEW tumor which is behind my nose. I will wait and see what the neurosurgeon says before deciding to operate.
My heart goes out to you and I hope your new year went well. I went to bed at 11:30pm on the 31st. It is hard to stay awake late. My bedtime is 9:30 - 10:00pm. That is a good day for me.
Anyway, think of me sending you warm, bright light and it is filling you up greatly! You can do anything when the light is shining bright. Love you and miss you! Rosie

The NS was off the day after New Year's for the holiday, and today, Tuesday, has not called back despite the fact that I called the office at 9:15 a.m., spoke to the receptionist when she called back around 11:45 and the nurse when when she called around 1:45 p.m.  And on Wednesday, I can't sit by the phone all day -- two doctors:  ortho in the morning and ENT in the afternoon.  Maybe this is a "no call is a good sign" thing.
