Thanks, Bernie...I am home now and will get a second opinion Tues. afternoon. You can tell me if you think it is ok to wait a week or so before having the surgeries.
The surgeon I saw today said a stomach man would do the first surgery to remove the obstructing stone. Then the next day a regular surgeon would remove the gall bladder. I had a precognitive dream about this less than two weeks ago.
I dreamt my friend, who has passed away, was giving me a massage.
See below:
Last night I was with a group of friends and one friend( one who is dead)
was giving me a back rub. But it was a long needle in my side. I realized that it hurt and wanted her to take it out. She put one more in and this one hurt, too.
Of course I thought about my episode on Monday with the stomach pain.
Vicki, I will say a special prayer for you. Do what you feel is right. I had a Laproscopic Cholecystectomy 8 years ago and it went well. You do have a lot of shoulder pain post-op because of the CO2 gas that they pump into your abdomen to visualize your abdominal organs. It was a piece of cake and much easier than an open Cholecystectomy!
Appreciate prayers in my direction. Thank you all. Ruth, he said it would depend on several things as to whether laparascopy would work in my case. Right now it is inflamed and distended and that could be a factor. I will hope it could be done that way.
I have no doubt you will be coming through your surgery with flying colors and I think it's great your pursuing 2nd, 3rd and 4th or as many opinions as possible. Don't know if this is something you want to pursue or not but it was a priceless gift for me. My surgeon was an oncological surgeon even though I don't nor have I ever had cancer. He loved massive, complicated surgeries no one else wanted to touch. Have you considered an oncological GI surgeon to see if he or she thinks two surgeries are necessary ??? I got multiple opinions and it really paid off with spectacular results and I KNOW yours will be the same. KNOW that we will all be energetically holding your hand on the OR table and in addition to your loved ones "upstairs", St. Chicken will be keeping an eye on you as well. Happy healing!!!!!!!!!!
Vicki, I agree with Jody about two-surgeries. I have never seen two different surgeons perform a cholecystectomy! I would ask him why he isn't doing both procedures. Bernie is a good reference for this as I'm sure he has done a couple of gall bladder surgeries!!
Bernie, is lithotripsy an option for a large stone in the CB duct? Vicki, are you taking antibiotics and did your surgeon give you something for pain?
We will all be at your bedside holding your hand and in the OR with you as well. You gals and guys have been around my bed for quite a few operations in the last 5-years so now it's my turn to be there for you!
bingo....that is what he said. He said he would want to do the endoscopy one day before the gb removal. They would admit me to the hospital the night before.
The doctor I am seeing on Tue. may do it differently.
I am just praying I won't get worse before I see him. If so, I will have to be admitted through the ER.
