I chose this song as my today's song, because, guess what?  It popped into my head first thing this morning.    And I thought about you, Dear Rose.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6_s0QIbI94

Thank you Elisa and Betty.  Much appreciated.  Everything went smoothly yesterday and I get the results Thursday morning and treatment is reviewed then too.  Whatever the scans show it will all be O.K.  I see every scan as just one scan closer to the day a scan will show that I am dancing with NED!   Love and Peace, Lucette.

Thank you Gerlinde!  With all these heartfelt wishes from you and others I'm sure the scans will be just fine.  Find out tomorrow.

My husband loves Amazing Grace and says to say thank you for the link.
Peace & Love, Lucette.

Lucette, here is some beautifully soothing music that always brings me calm: Mozart's Ave verum, conducted by Leonard Bernstein, sung in a church in Germany (I am from Germany and miss it sometimes).
I'll have my next chemo infusion on Thursday, so we'll be thinking of each other!

Thank you, thank you, Gerlinde!  I love this music and it's been one of my favourite pieces for a long time (how did you know??)

I will certainly be thinking of you on Thursday.  How are you with the chemo?  I hope you are taking great care of yourself.  I've had IV chemo, then oral chemo, then had a break and now back on a different oral chemo.  It is all do-able!  I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry you miss Germany but I hope you get back there often. Love and Peace, Lucette.

Thank you, Betty, for the recording from Germany! Time to say goodbye, which Sarah Brightman sang together with Andrea Boccelli, was one of the pieces that helped me during the intense bangs of grief after my husband's death. Once after I opened the front door to my house, the CD player came on by itself, blasting out: Con te partiro, immediately followed by Time to say goodbye (these two lines are not following each other on the recording). There is probably a mechanical explanation, but it was so helpful to me at that time.

Lucette, I am so happy that you seem to have similar musical tastes and share my love for this extraordinary beautiful rendition of Ave Verum! I was last in Germany this past September to sell my mother's house in the Bavarian Alps. It was sad and stirred up many memories of my childhood, but it had to be done, and I know that her spirit approved. I live in California, and after many years of holding on to it, it just became impossible.

Chemo: I am what they call "heavily pre-treated", this being my fifth regimen, one of which was oral (metronomic). Yes, I was diagnosed the year after my husband's death. The current chemo is very irritating to the veins, and I will soon get a port. Last year I stopped teaching, but I continue my project for Africa.
It is difficult to deal with repeated cancer re-occurences and keep the life force alive and burning, but I try to will my body into cooperating, as I have things left to do. Am not sure if taking care of myself or fulfilling what I see as my purpose for the rest of my life (i.e. the Africa project) should take priority at this point ... I try to do both, but may not succeed completely in either one.

Am visualizing NED for you tomorrow!
Love and prayers,
Gerlinde

Thank you Gerlinde.  I love all of those songs.  It is already Thursday for Lucette, and Lucette, I pray for the best outcome possible.

Gerlinde, I found that while I was going through chemotherapy, I had to put all other projects aside, and concentrate on my healing as my number one assignment.  I pray that you will sail through this treatment with ease and peace.

Dear Folk, Thanks so much for prayers, thoughts and wishes.  I had a 7.30am appointment with the oncologist and now just home but have to go for an appointment with the GP.

The good news is that there has been no further progression of disease since last scan.  This is the first time in 2 yrs that the scans have stopped showing progression.  But there's more good news.  Two of the lung tumours that showed on the last three scans are not showing on this scan!  Of course the oncologist had to point out that they are probably still there and would show on a PET scan... but I didn't listen ... And the even better news is that some of the bone tumours are much smaller now.  We are so happy even though happiness should not depend on scans.  I've had a virus these past few days but that is even getting better today.  So, I've decided to stop the oral chemo and just stay on the AIs and my own program, which follows the Gawler Diet etc. and advice from Bernie's books.

Gerlinde, I am thinking of you and pray you have an easy time of chemo today (or tomorrow, for you, I guess.)  Must go to keep my appointment with the GP (General Practitioner - do you call your family doctor that in the USA?)

Gerlinde, how are you after chemo?  What a great story about you CD player!

Do you (or anyone else) have other Mozart pieces that you love?  When I was very young I was sitting in the car while my parents visited some of their friends and from the house next door I heard this extraordinary music.  My love for classical music was born.  I got out of the car and stood at their fence then hummed the music all the way home until that night I went outside and hummed aloud while conducting the stars!  Years later I found out that piece was Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik - Allegro K.525.

Gerlinde, what is your Africa project?
