Margaret,

Thanx so much for asking and thanx for the support.
Because the safety of my Mom and the other residents
is the primary concern, and retaliation against residents
is a well known reality, I don't feel safe naming the facility
on the internet.....yet. The newspaper article did not name
it specifically, and things are extremely sensitive right now,
but if it feels safe to do so, I will certainly let you know asap.
Thank you again for caring!!!!!!!!

Also, have you contacted your local newspaper and TV stations?

We have an investigative reporter for each of our local TV stations. They've brought to the public eye, some serious stuff.

Hugs and prayers,

Margaret

Fortunately with the strike, the United Health Workers
union organzing the strike,  are a large body able
to bring significant media attention, and that way no
one resident can be retaliated against, since this is
the staff initiating things not the helpless residents.

Thanks Jody.  No, I did not know of this alarm that you describe.  My mother can be a 'difficult' patient and she fell while being attended to by a nurse.

I had only a short stay in hospital as I had to have fluid drained from around my lung.  Unfortunately the pathology and the tumor marker result wasn't what we hoped for, but it WILL be better next time.  However, I'm O.K. and still smiling.  I'll be keeping you and your efforts in thought and prayer.  Peace and Love, Lucette.

Jody how is everything going with the nursing home?  It is now the afternoon of 25th Sept. here and I've been thinking of you and your hopes and activities these past two days.  Take care.  Love and Peace, Lucette.

Jody,
What is happening with the strike?  I asked my cousin Al to check in the local newspapers about it and he indicated that there have been no articles about it in the papers.  What gives?

Dear Ruth & Lucette,

Thank you all for your interest  and support.
I've been camping out inside the nursing home
since Tues. Night and am just home for a few
minutes, as the strike is not over till tomorrow.
I'll fill you in when the strike is over and I'm
back home.
Ruth, Al can read about it on the front page
of the Herald last Wed.9/17/08 and a full page
ad on pg A-5 of the Sunday Herald 9/21/08.
I haven't seen any follow-up articles yet cause it just
started yesterday and I haven't seen a paper yet, but
hopefully there will be one and it opens the door to
letters to the editor etc. And gratefully, one of my
clients said she saw it reported on last night news.
HALLLLLLELLLLUUUUJJJJAAAHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanx to everyone for all the prayers.
More when I'm back home.
                               Love & hugs, Jody

Dear Miracle Thrivers,

It feels like I've just gotten home from the
wars, but this particular strike is over, at least
for this facility and I want to THANK YOU ALLL
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH !!!!!!!
The outcome of the negotiations from the strike
are yet to be resolved......but the one very positive
effect is that it has brought media attention to the
nursing homes and there may be further strikes if
the union workers don't get what they want. Now the
door is open to letters to the editor etc and at least
an initial approach to the subject has been provided.
Besides your wonderful prayers and thoughts of support,
your stories of similar nursing home neglect from all
over the globe can act as a very motivating factor
for the strikers, to not stop till things are made right for the
residents and employees alike.
Synchronisticly, Suze Orman was on Oprah, during the strike
period talking about the  American economy woes and she said they
happened because people put money first before people, and that's
exactly what's happened in my Mom's nursing home. The bottom line
is the bottom line, not the resident or their care. So tons of prayers
are still needed, but sharing your stories(anonymously of course) is
an invaluable motivator, for the workers to have to know their
helping to possibly help lead the way for the resolution of a global travesty
and give the defenseless and voiceless of the world community,
a much needed spotlight for their plight.
There is still great concern over retaliation, especially from a certain few
but any further info that I can safely pass on, I will be sure to do so and
thank you again for caring the way you do, you're all playing a very
big part in an ongoing miracle!!!!!!!!!!

                                      Big Love & hugs, Jody

as jung said the bigger the organization the more the individual behaves like a vicious animal. it leads to depersonalization and interest in the dollar and the business and not people.

Amen St. B,

       I couldn't agree more and I think societally we're
getting a chance to lance a giant abscess. Get all the
rotten things cleaned out of the wound and exposed,
so that people are made aware and empowered to do
something about cleaning out the abscess, so it can heal
from the inside out.
Beth, your support and prayers are appreciated beyond
words, this problem didn't start overnight and I see this
strike as a nidus that is going to build momentum and strength
upon itself....the more people  that become involved and committed
to stopping it locally and globally, the faster everyone wins and
thank you for seeing it as a Miracle in Progress.....that's what
all of you here specialize in...Miracles!!!!!!!!

The only thing I would differ with Jung about is
that I don't think there is any more vicious
animal than the human animal, largely because
of our ego's which I have never found in an animal.
I only say that because so many times outrageous
behavior is compared to an animal, and I never
find any of it to be comparable to what humans
do to each other, if they've lost their heart and
soul.
I hope humans  truly do start looking to animals to
see how they keep the peace and resolve issues, and
then maybe we humans will be more evolved.
Some of you may see the Dateline story on the murder
of the husband and wife here in Carmel Valley by John
Kenney. They were all my neighbors. He killed them over
a boulder.,.....animals will kill if it's truly about life or
death or starvation, but John Kenney felt it was ok
to murder two people over a boulder and a postage stamp of dirt.
I think we have an enormous amount to learn from the
animals, and I'm so grateful they're willing to help us learn.

jody you are so right
there is a poem called the cat which sayd the same thing the cat in essence says people 's behavior is far worse than a cat's behavior
they kill to survive we kill because of rejection, revenge and emotional sickness of various sorts

I agree St. B,
and not only that, there is no amount
of disrespect or desensitization to their own
species that will start a war, or mimic what
they see on TV or movies or music.
Even when nature does kill, it kill's quickly
and humanely for food, preservation or defense.
Our species will chop you up for 50 cents and
a "thrill kill", but I still believe we're waking up
Thank God!!!!!! At least we're not sitting around
in a colliseum on a Sunday afternoon watching
somebody be mauled to death, and call it an
entertaining event.
Personally I'm thrilled millions are now sitting around
and watching "Dancing with the Stars"...doesn't get
much more harmless and yet it is full of life and fun
and music and dance for all ages...love to see you on
there St. B!!!!!!!!
