At the beginning of my shift I placed a stethoscope on an elderly and
slightly deaf female patient's anterior chest wall. "Big breaths," I
instructed. "Yes, they used to be," remorsed the patient.

Yes, Ruth the puppy is OK.

I think all jokes could just go under a topic Funnies or Smiles or Jokes instead of us starting a new thread for each joke.  What do others think?  Just a suggestion. J.

Absolutely, John! There is no need for separate threads. So I'll start a new thread "Jokes", if everyone is in agreement?
I must say that I have never been a good teller of jokes and can't remember any for the life of me, but I enjoy reading them.

The nursing student had been told to listen to the elderly lady's heart. As the nursing instructor watched from the doorway, she saw the student was placing the bell of her stethescope somewhere around the level of the woman's navel.

She called the student out into the hallway.

"Why are you searching for the heartbeat so far down?" she asked.

"Well the textbook said to place your stethescope under the left nipple!" the student replied.

The textbook should be revised to say under the left breast instead of nipple!  In some women, their left nipple could be anywhere.  Their bust measurements should read as a 38 long, etc!
